  • Diploma or certificate in Pastry, Culinary Arts, or Baking
  • Minimum 2 tot 3 years' experience in a senior pastry role within a luxury hotel or fine dining environment
  • Strong command of modern pastry trends, tools, and techniques
  • Passion for innovation, aesthetics, and guest satisfaction
  • Proficiency in kitchen organisation, inventory control, and cost management
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including early mornings and weekends
  • South African citizenship required

Team Leadership & Kitchen Management
  • Direct and schedule pastry kitchen operations
  • Supervise, train, and guide pastry staff to maintain high standards
  • Collaborate with executive and sous chefs to align service delivery
Pastry & Dessert Creation
  • Craft premium-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods for a la carte, banqueting, and events
  • Ensure precision in taste, texture, presentation, and portioning
  • Drive visual excellence and consistency across the dessert offering
Menu Design & Innovation
  • Develop seasonal menus and signature offerings
  • Experiment with new recipes, techniques, and presentation styles
  • Align creativity with cost-efficiency and brand identity
Stock Management & Cost Control
  • Monitor ingredient usage, wastage, and order cycles
  • Ensure production is cost-effective and sustainable
  • Maintain updated inventory records and supplier relationships
Hygiene & Food Safety
  • Uphold HACCP and hotel sanitation standards
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and food handling protocols
  • Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of all pastry equipment
