JOB PURPOSE

The Regional Bureau (RBJ) is based in Johannesburg and supports operations across 12 countries in Southern Africa and Indian Ocean States (Malawi, Mozambique, Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of Congo, Madagascar, Tanzania, Lesotho, ESwatini, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Angola). The region encompasses approximately 1,500 employees across 12 countries providing assistance to approximately 4 million people per month through the provision of vital life-saving food assistance using food distribution or cash-based transfers, school meals, malnutrition prevention and nutrition treatment activities, as well as asset creation and livelihood support.

To support in this mission, the RBJ currently seeking applications from eligible candidates for the post of Talent Acquisition Specialist to support hiring managers, in ensuring that the talent acquisition strategy supports their needs and building a diverse and inclusive place to work. This includes, but is not limited to, sourcing, recruitment, and selection of candidates, as well as advising hiring managers on all aspects of attraction and selection.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

Liaise with hiring managers and establish an implementation plan for delivering the recommended changes as defined under the Regional Bureau staffing plans.

Manage the full life cycle of recruitment process from the identification of the staffing needs to sourcing, screening, and selecting the candidates.

Design relevant sourcing approaches with the intent to identify, attract and recruit the best candidates meeting the hiring needs; support the employer brand visibility, organize/attend career events.

Support recruitment activities, with a focus on inclusive sourcing ensuring consistent, transparent and effective HR processes are executed within WFP rules and regulations related to the recruitments.

Partner with managers throughout the recruitment process, to ensure the highest standards of efficiency and integrity, in line with internal recruitment procedures, as well as the highest talent standards are applied when selecting candidates for WFP.

Identify, design and implement different selection tools, processes and practices to diversify selection methods and approaches.

Contribute to enforce Talent Acquisition best practices and support the implementation of various Talent Acquisition initiatives in Country Offices/Regional Bureau.

Review the composition of the pool of qualified candidates at key stages in the recruitment process and introduce corrective measures to maintain a balanced pipeline in line with the organization's diversity targets.

Build first-time hiring managers interviewing skills and facilitate refresher sessions to existing interviewers across the region.

Support Country Office and Regional Bureau HR Colleagues in building talent acquisition capabilities

In collaboration with RBJ functional heads, design and develop various Roster of expert profiles or gender-specific candidates, act as point of contact / high touch engagement for Roster candidates. Build new Rosters in line with RBJ Transformation themes/ outcomes.

Analyse workforce and recruitment data and metrics to identify gaps & diversity recruitment opportunities and collaborate with country HR teams to help identify key challenges & opportunities.

Keep abreast of the latest talent acquisition tools, best practices and initiatives to ensure up to date skills and practices in the Region.

Any other tasks that may be assigned.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
xe2xa6x81 University degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology or a related field or another degree with directly relevant work experience.

Experience:

Minimum of 6 years of relevant professional work experience in Human Resources

Strong Knowledge and Expertise in talent acquisition and sourcing

Track record of successful project delivery

Knowledge & Skills:

Ability to work with teams remotely

Change and Project Management

Ability to quickly build credibility with internal stakeholders

Ability to work well with a diverse team, cultural sensitivity and demonstrated business partnering skills

Creative problem solver, flexible and constructive approach

Ability to work calmly under pressure and prioritise multiple stakeholder requests

International HR work experience

Languages:
xe2xa6x81 Good knowledge of English and French is required
