Prepare and bake a diverse range of pastries, cakes, desserts, and baked goods according to established recipes and standards
Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients accurately to ensure consistency and quality
Decorate and present baked goods to a high visual and culinary standard
Monitor oven temperatures and adjust settings to ensure correct baking results
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the pastry section, equipment, and workstations
Collaborate with the wider kitchen team to meet daily production requirements
Assist with stock control, inventory management, and ordering of pastry ingredients
Contribute to menu development by researching trends and assisting with new and seasonal pastry offerings
Ensure strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations at all times
High school diploma or equivalent (essential)
Formal training in baking or culinary arts (advantageous)
Food Handler's Certificate or relevant food safety certification (advantageous)
Minimum 5 years' experience in baking and confectionery with a diverse skill set
Proven ability to work weekends and evenings as per operational requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and pastry equipment
Solid understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
Ability to follow recipes precisely while also applying creativity and innovation
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise under pressure
High attention to detail and commitment to consistent quality
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
