Job Description

Job Summary Newly opened Restaurant at a historic wine estate close to Franschhoek is looking for a Pastry Chef de Partie. Duties: Create; desserts, pastries, breads, and baked goods to the highest standards. Design seasonal dessert menus in collaboration with the Head Chef. Maintain consistency in quality, flavour and presentation. Train and mentor junior pastry staff. Ensure mise en place, organisation and cleanliness of the pastry section. Monitor stock levels, control waste and maintain cost efficiency. Comply with all hygiene, safety and health standards. Requirements: Grade 12 Formal culinary/pastry qualification advantageous. Proven experience as a Pastry Chef in a 4 / 5* establishment. Strong creative flair with attention to detail and presentation. Excellent organisational and time-management skills. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, upmarket kitchen. Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
