Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead and oversee the maintenance operations for a large manufacturing company based in Pietermaritzburg. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding, electrical systems, and mechanical maintenance, with the ability to effectively manage a team of maintenance technicians. This role requires a hands-on approach to ensure the facility's equipment, machinery, and systems are properly maintained, minimising downtime and maximising operational efficiency.

Requirements:

• Matric qualification essential
• N4 xe2x80x93 N6 Qualifications advantageous
• Proficient in Excel usage
• Possess mechanical aptitude
• Skilled in welding with prior experience
• Capable of working effectively within a team
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Knowledgeable in health and safety protocols
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position
• Trade test experience is beneficial

• Supervise a team of maintenance technicians to execute both planned and unplanned maintenance assignments
• Collaborate with contractors from diverse industries
• Perform maintenance on mechanical and electrical machinery
• Demonstrate proficiency in constructing stands and platforms
• Proficiently handle inverter systems, drives, and programming
• Execute welding, electrical, and mechanical maintenance tasks as required
• Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions promptly through effective diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and company policies throughout maintenance operations
• Formulate and execute preventive maintenance programs aimed at prolonging machinery and equipment lifespan
• Maintain precise and comprehensive records of all maintenance activities, encompassing repairs, replacements, and inspections
