COMPANY DESCRIPTION:

Our client, an upmarket hotel and conference center in Pretoria, has a vacancy for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join their team. This position will report directly to the Maintenance Manager.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

To maintain the facility standards of the venue to create a safe, comfortable and unique experience for all guests.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Admin & Finance

• Purchase of required materials by following the purchase procedure
• Storage of materials in allocated storerooms and the safe keeping thereof minimizing losses
• Issuing of required material to staff and contractors as required
• Safe keeping and upkeep of maintenance equipment
• Following applicable HR policies
• Assist with the administration of Health and Safety in the department
• All tasks pertaining to OHS delegated by the Maintenance Manager

Preventative Maintenance Program

• Keep progress reports and update on outstanding issues
• Liaise and ensure contractors are conducting their work at the required standard and outcome of the contract
• Collect service reports from contractors for H&S purposes
• Schedule staff and contractors to work according to the demands of the various projects and the day to day maintenance programs

Operations

• Collection information of job cards / work required from reception, housekeeping and management (maintenance book / Project Maintenance PMP)
• Record maintenance and repair work performed and materials used to complete the work
• Parts, supplies and equipment to be obtained from storerooms
• Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills and wrenches to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices
• Assemble, install and/or repair pipe systems and plumbing, machinery and equipment
• Repair counters, benches, partitions and other wood structures such as sheds and outbuildings
• Paint and repair roofs, windows. Floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall and other parts of the building structures
• Assemble, install and/or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, machinery and equipment
• Complete tasks as indicated in the Preventative Maintenance Program and to the required standard

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12
• Relevant tertiary qualification (refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, carpentry etc.)
• Trade Test xe2x80x93 added advantageous

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Minimum 2 yearsxe2x80x99 experience as a maintenance assistant
• 1 year in a hotel environment xe2x80x93 advantageous
• 1 year experience in a supervisory role xe2x80x93 advantageous
• Experience in general maintenance procedures & preventive maintenance operations
• General Handyman experience
• Ability to organize and lead a team
• Experience in managing people and processes; project planning and workflow management
• Excellent communication skills
• Guest oriented
• Working in a pressurized environment
• Adaptable
