Junior Equity Researcher

Profile Data has an opening in the company's Equity Research Department.

The position involves management of Profile's ShareData(TM) database, a comprehensive financial information resource on all listed companies on the JSE, A2X, CTSE, EESE and NSX exchanges.

Job Specification

Conducting financial and equity research into listed companies Managing and monitoring Corporate Research South Africa database, forecast database and ShareData Online website Analysing and interpretation of financial statements, financial reports, ratio calculations, exchange rate computations, directors' dealings and SENS notes Sourcing, collating and verifying information on listed companies from SENS, annual reports etc. Compilation, proof reading and editing functions for Profile's Stock Exchange Handbook Preparing, analysing and managing data received for shares, currencies, bonds and indices; as well as checking, correcting and updating dividend and earnings yields Capturing and executing corporate actions -- performing share consolidations, splits and unbundlings; as well as listing and delisting companies Establishing and managing relationships with companies and attending to queries from clients timeously and diligently Writing media comments from various publications

This position will suit a candidate who:

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate needs solid Excel and computer skills. Other requirements are:

Excellent written and spoken English BCom degree with Economics/Finance/Accounting including Accounting at some level At least 1-2 years relevant work experience
