You will own the recruiting pipeline from advertising through to presenting a shortlist of top candidates directly to the founder for final interviews.
Core Responsibilities
1. Advertising & Candidate Generation
Draft and post compelling
job ads
for a variety of sales positions (closers, SDRs, account executives, etc.).
Set up and manage
paid job campaigns / sponsored listings
on platforms like Indeed, LinkedIn and other regional job boards.
Actively source candidates via
LinkedIn, databases, referrals, and direct outreach
to find high-quality sales talent.
2. Screening & Interviews
Review large volumes of
CVs/resumes
and quickly filter out weak fits.
Conduct
video or phone interviews
to evaluate:
Sales background (inbound vs outbound, B2B vs B2C, closing experience, quotas, etc.)
Communication and professionalism
English fluency and ability to work with a US-based team
Use structured,
competency-based questions
tailored to sales roles.
3. Assessments & Shortlisting
Arrange and manage
personality and skills assessments
(sales aptitude, behavioral style, role-play tasks, etc.).
Interpret assessment results alongside interview notes to identify the
top candidates
.
Prepare clear
candidate summaries
(key strengths, concerns, salary expectations, location, notice period) and deliver a short list to the founder.
4. Process Management & Reporting
Maintain an organized
candidate pipeline
using an ATS or tracking sheet.
Coordinate and schedule
final interviews
with the founder.
Collect references when needed.
Provide
simple weekly updates
on:
Number of applicants
Interviews conducted
Candidates at each pipeline stage
Roles filled and in progress
Requirements
5+ years of recruiting experience
, with a strong focus on
sales roles
.
Proven track record hiring
full-time remote salespeople
(closers, SDRs, BDRs, appointment setters, etc.).
Experience recruiting in at least one of the following regions:
South Africa, South America, or the Middle East
(ideally more than one).
Hands-on experience creating and managing
paid job ads / sponsored posts
.
Strong ability to:
Screen high volumes of applicants
Run structured interviews
Narrow down to a small group of top performers
Comfortable working independently, taking ownership of the
full recruitment cycle
.
Excellent written and spoken
English
.
Reliable internet connection and ability to work with some overlap in
US working hours
.
Nice-to-Have
Experience working for or with
US-based companies
.
Prior work with
remote-first teams
.
Basic
HR / People Ops
exposure (onboarding, contracts, documentation) - not required, but a bonus.
