As the Head of Marketing and Communications, you will need a proven track record in driving multi-channel marketing & communication programmes while demonstrating life & platform investment industry understanding. You will be responsible for developing marketing strategies, creating marketing briefs for strategies, plan & ensure that they are executed.
You will develop & drive the marketing strategies of Glacier, incl. Glacier Platform Investments, Glacier Life Investments, Glacier International, Glacier Invest (DFM) and Glacier Manco & help drive the internal Glacier brand. You will work collaboratively with marketing heads/specialists within the Sanlam Group & SanlamConnect (Distribution) in activating a cohesive brand message.
You will need to apply strong, inspirational leadership skills to manage & motivate a marketing team to deliver on marketing strategy, build customer engagement, help toward driving sales, with enhanced customer experience.
You will work closely with Glacier & Sanlam senior executives, digital teams, brand managers, designers, PR practitioners, advertising specialists & digital & communication agencies, to ensure marketing campaigns & sponsorships are aligned with the core brand message.
Key Outcomes

Defining & reviewing marketing strategies:

  • Leading the development of marketing strategies & plans for sub-business areas incl. communication strategies.
  • Support the growth strategies at intermediary & client level.
  • Manage multiple brands.
  • Reviewing & reporting on all areas of the marketing strategies & implementation.
  • Developing the corporate brand identity in consultation with all stakeholders.
  • Managing creative agencies & retainer partners.
  • Collaborating with senior team members to uncover insights & create innovative marketing/branding strategies.
  • Sourcing talent to ensure the curation & retention of specialist skills across your teams.
  • Monitoring, reviewing & reporting on all marketing activities, results & Return on Investment (ROI).
  • Conducting strategic marketing analysis that will guide marketing messages.
  • Overseeing social media planning & execution incl. digital campaigns.
  • Conceptualise, develop & implement marketing plans & strategies, product concepts & promotional programmes to drive interest & sales.
  • Continuously ensure the company marketing goals are communicated & improving the companyxe2x80x99s marketing outreach efforts.
  • Ensuring that current marketing & copyright regulations comply with accepted professional standards, policies, procedures & legislation.
  • Efficiently managing annual marketing budgets.
  • Driving & supporting CSI projects.
  • Crafting compelling narratives that showcase the value of Glacier by understanding the needs, challenges & opportunities within the Sales, Intermediaries and Clientxe2x80x99s environment. Through various mediums, lead & deliver engaging presentations that tell the Glacier story & demonstrate our thought leadership on relevant topics.
Responsible for the planning and implementation of the marketing strategy for the company or for a division within an organisation. Responsibilities could include monitoring and maintaining the quality of marketing, market research and project development activities for a sector of the group's activities. What will make you successful in this role?

Collaborate with various stakeholders:
  • Work across functions with peers to ensure collaboration for shared goals xe2x80x93 particularly closely with product dev, sales team & IT in taking new products & system developments to market.
  • Work with third-party partnership businesses in coordinating & driving marketing strategies.
  • Help manage crisis communication for the business.
Manage the financial discipline of the division relating to budgets, business targets, performance & financial reporting:
  • Manage the marketing budget for the most efficient ROI.
Provide strategic leadership/people management within Glacier Marketing and broader senior leadership team of Glacier:
  • Take responsibility for performance of direct reports, motivating & developing the team in relation to agreed benchmarks and objectives.
  • Foster & cultivate practices that support the Glacier culture & values.
Qualifications & experience
  • Degree/Diploma in Marketing, majoring in either Advertising, Communications, Marketing Management or Business Management equivalent.
  • 8-10 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in investment/financial services marketing environment.
  • 5 years' senior management experience.
  • 3-5 years' experience in driving digital marketing campaigns.
  • Investment, platform, and life investment industry knowledge and understanding.
