General Manager / Estate Manager (Pome Fruit)
Our client is an established family business that produces apples and pears in the Elgin/Grabouw valley. The Grabouw farms cover 420 hectares, divided into six production units, and offer an opportunity for a passionate manager who can lead the production team towards the business' vision. Key focus areas and responsibilities:

• Management of all technical and operational aspects of fruit cultivation
• Collaborating with technical advisors and applying their insights to enhance production outcomes
• Leading and managing five production managers
• Ensure compliance to international market requirements
• Health and safety (OHS 16.2 appointee)
• Financial management and budgets
• Maximizing production of first-class tons
• Driving early performance of young orchards
• Timely execution of activities
• Leadership
• Establishing regenerative farming practices
• Personnel development
• Cost management

Requirements:

• Strong management skills with at least 5 years of experience at a similar management level
• A post-school qualification. A bachelor's degree in agriculture will be advantageous
• Team player
• Must understand Afrikaans
• A passion for the development of people and trees
• A drive for excellence

Remuneration
A remuneration package, which includes profit sharing, is negotiable with this senior appointment. It is their philosophy to share their success with their staff.
