Job Summary Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of property assets, ensuring the achievement of growth and profitability objectives while maintaining operational excellence. The General Manager will oversee all aspects of property operations, including leasing, tenant management, retail space optimization, marketing, facilities management, preventative maintenance, health & safety compliance, and capital projects.
Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor strategic plans for properties to maximize profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct annual risk assessments, exposure analysis, and monthly performance monitoring against budget and industry benchmarks.
  • Drive property improvements, refurbishments, renovations, and development projects while controlling CAPEX and OPEX budgets.
  • Utilize market intelligence and research to execute marketing strategies, tenant mix optimization, and tenant acquisition programs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with tenants, service providers, and stakeholders to ensure seamless operations and excellent client satisfaction.
  • Oversee property and lease administration, ensuring compliance with commercial property law, accounting standards, and company policies.
  • Lead, mentor, and assess property teams, conducting performance reviews and ensuring high staff productivity and engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), municipal regulations, and industry standards.
  • Identify opportunities for energy efficiency, sustainability initiatives, and cost optimization across property operations.
Key Requirements
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in property management, real estate operations, or facilities management.
  • Commerce or Property qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial/property law, accounting, operations management, and facilities management.
  • Proven experience in managing commercial, industrial, and retail property portfolios.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams, vendors, and contractors.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
