Job Description


Purpose of the Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for a dynamic, self-motivated, innovative individual to utilise their qualifications and experience in this busy and challenging position.

Responsible for providing support to restaurants related to Employee Relations and related matters by advising, consulting, and facilitating sensitive aspects such as disciplinary inquiries, dispute resolution, resolving grievances and daily practical Employee Relations aspects or functions in an efficient and effective manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Chairing and/or initiating disciplinary hearings and grievance processes
  • Represent the company at the CCMA and relevant Bargaining Councils for effective dispute resolution
  • Weekly reporting on Employee Relations aspects
  • Assist and provide support with the investigation process
  • Compile and distribute hearing notifications
  • Builds credible relationships with employees, management, stakeholders and unions
  • Administrative support to the Employment Equity Committee
  • Physically visit the restaurant to provide Employee Relations support and expand the knowledge of the in-restaurant employees regarding ER-related matters
Qualification
  • Diploma in Behavioural sciences, Human Resource Management
  • Advanced diploma or degree will be an added advantage
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role
Additional requirements
  • Valid South African ID
  • Valid drivers' license
  • Own reliable transport
  • Willing to travel extensively
  • Clear credit & criminal record
  • Solid knowledge of disciplinary and grievance process
  • Solid dispute resolution experience with CCMA / Bargaining Council
  • Proven track record in providing sound employee relations support to management & employees
  • Proficiency with MS Office / Microsoft 365
