As our Bookkeeper, your role is pivotal in upholding these values, ensuring meticulous financial management that directly supports KG Short Stay's commitment to becoming the nation's most trusted short-term rental letting agent.
Key Results/Outcomes
Weekly Financial Updates:
Maintain and update financial records on a weekly basis, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded in real-time.
VAT Returns and Compliance:
Efficiently manage and work with the Finance Manager to submit VAT returns in compliance with UK tax legislation, maintaining impeccable records for KG Short Stay and our clients.
Client Account Management:
Oversee client accounts with precision, handling invoicing, payments, and financial inquiries with professionalism, thus reinforcing trust in our financial dealings.
Comprehensive Financial Reporting:
Work with the Finance Manager to generate accurate and timely weekly financial reports, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cashflow forecasts, utilising Xero and bespoke internal Google Sheet reporting systems. These insights are crucial for strategic decision-making and maintaining financial health.
Regulatory Advisory and Compliance:
Ensure all accounting practices adhere strictly to UK tax laws, providing informed financial advice to support the company's strategic growth and stability.
Must-Haves
Qualifications:
AAT qualification or equivalent in finance/accounting.
Experience:
Demonstrated experience in bookkeeping, specifically working with VAT returns and a thorough understanding of UK tax laws.
Software Proficiency:
High proficiency in Xero is essential (minimum 3 years), alongside adeptness in utilising Google Sheets for internal reporting, reflecting a strong blend of technical and analytical skills.
Attention to Detail:
Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail, crucial for managing intricate financial data and compliance requirements.
Self-Employment Structure:
Ability to operate effectively as a self-employed professional, showcasing discipline and organisational skills to manage workloads from home.
Nice to Haves
Prior experience in the short-term rental or hospitality industry, providing an insight into the sector's unique financial challenges and opportunities.
Proficiency in additional cloud-based accounting and financial management tools, enhancing the efficiency and reliability of our financial operations.
Remuneration and Hours
Pay:
Up to ZAR250 per hour, reflecting qualifications and experience.
Hours:
Approximately 10-20 hours per week, offering flexibility to accommodate other personal or professional commitments.
