The Workshop Stock Controller/Storeman will be responsible for managing the inventory of the workshop, ensuring that all stock levels are maintained, and that materials and tools are available for the workshop team. This role involves receiving, storing, and issuing goods, as well as maintaining accurate records of stock movements.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
Monitor and maintain stock levels to ensure the workshop is adequately supplied.
Receiving Goods:
Check and receive incoming deliveries, ensuring that the goods match the purchase orders and are in good condition.
Stock Issuance:
Issue materials and tools to workshop staff as required, ensuring accurate records are kept.
Stock Records:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all stock movements, including receipts, issues, and returns.
Stock Audits:
Conduct regular stock audits and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
Storage Management:
Organize and maintain the stock storage areas to ensure efficient and safe storage of materials and tools.
Order Processing:
Assist in the preparation and processing of purchase orders for replenishment of stock, as well as following up on long outstanding orders.
Health & Safety:
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the storage and handling of materials.
Reporting:
Generate regular reports on stock levels, usage, and discrepancies for management review.
Minimum requirements:
Matric
Valid drivers' license
Physically fit and healthy. Job applicant must note that it is a physical work environment requiring the ability to lift and move items.
Ability to communicate fluently in English and Afrikaans
Computer literate at intermediate level (Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite)
Atleast 5 years' experience in a workshop stores environment
Very good understand of mechanical parts and identification skills
Excellent knowledge of all
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
Reliable and punctual.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proactive and able to anticipate the needs of the workshop.
