Role Purpose

The role is responsible for ensuring that technical systems and processes are functioning efficiently and effectively to support the delivery of high-quality healthcare services. The Technical Manager works closely with other departments and stakeholders to ensure that technology solutions align with the organisation's goals and objectives.
Requirements

  • Matric
  • Degree. Honours or Masterxe2x80x99s Degree would be advantageous.
  • Attended a MMI accredited Healthcare Leadership course would be an advantage.
  • A good understanding of the healthcare industry i.e. trends, competitors and legislation.
  • 5-10 years technical management experience in a service environment is essential.
  • 10 years management experience in an operational environment is essential.
  • Previous experience or knowledge of the health care industry would be advantageous.
  • Strong financial and operational management background.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently.
Duties & Responsibilities

Technical Operations Management:

The Technical Manager will oversee all technical operations within the MHS dental department. This includes software support and access management necessary to support clinical and administrative functions.

Provide effective input into the strategy for the Business Unit and specifically (but not limited to) where it relates to operational performance. Also ensure that cost savings and revenue generation mechanisms are established and implemented in line with the MHS strategic objectives.

Provide insightful operational input in client engagements and ensure that any interactions/submissions are managed professionally and in a manner that demonstrate the MHS values in line with automated solutions, improving efficiencies on systems and process.

Provide on-going proactive and strategic input to our client on service related trends through insightful analysis and interpretation.

Communicate key information to the stakeholders of these service areas with respect to industry requirements/changes and the competitive environment.

Negotiating with other stakeholders in achieving departmental internal objectives.

Ensure that quality initiatives are enhanced within all operational areas.

System Implementation and Management:

The Technical Manager will oversee the implementation and management of all technical systems within the MHS dental department. This includes working with vendors, IT staff and other stakeholders to ensure that systems are implemented on time and within budget and that they are fully operational and maintained.

Liaison with relevant management team to identify findings impacting on service delivery that require immediate intervention and ensure mitigation measures are implemented.

Review and propose enhancements to the current business processes currently in existence within the MHS Business Unit.

In collaboration with management team to recommend new business processes to create accelerated efficiencies (both process and qualitative) within the MHS Business Unit.

Support operations in the planning and development of new system and business processes relevant to the Customer Services, Claims and Business Support departments.

Security or information Management:

The Technical Manager is responsible for managing and maintaining the security / member information of all members. This includes ensuring that systems are protected against external and internal threats and that data privacy is maintained. Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Ensure consistent compliance to company policies and procedures, corporate governance and relevant legislative requirements.

Performance and Monitoring:

The Technical Manager is responsible for monitoring the performance of I-Tooth and all related platform systems, third party maintenance and ensuring that issues are resolved promptly. This includes identifying and troubleshooting technical problems, performing system maintenance and ensuring that systems are updated with the latest software. Ensure that MMI dental staff are upskilled and trained on all system processes and configuration rules.

Vendor Management:

The Technical Manager will work closely with vendors to ensure that technical solutions align with the organisation's goals and objectives. This includes managing ongoing relationships, setting up or amending sys config to cater for rule and data download. Ensure that vendors are meeting their contractual obligations or MHS is aligned to their SLAxe2x80x99s.

Staff Management:

The Technical Manager will provide technical support to staff within MMI dental healthcare organisations, including IT support staff, Quality assessors, Risk and governance and technical specialists.

Maintain and develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

Ensuring adequate training and development of all staff.

General Duties:

Provide proactive and strategic input to our client on claims trends through insightful analysis and interpretation.

Assisting and supporting the Head of Operations to meet business needs
Maintain, develop and update business processes for MMI dental, service delivery in line with scheme rules, clinical advisor and SADA.
Take accountability for all audit and risk management requirements as required.
Insight into and an understanding of the importance of industry issues and its implication on the operational areas and incorporating required changes.
Provide support to segments and channels on operational queries and escalations.
Ensure that quality indicators are implemented and appropriately measured.
