Job Description

To ensure execution of plans, improvement in performance, adherence to process and delivering against service levels by analysing, evaluating, and directing the Logistics Interaction Centre team. This is done in order to achieve business and customer requirements.
Placement within the organisation:
The role reports to the Logistics Interaction Centre Manager.
Extent of the role's involvement in supervision and other team leadership activities
The role has direct reports in the form of Logistics Interaction Controllers.
Level of interaction within and outside of the company as well as the nature and purpose of the interaction

  • Engage with Warehouse, Distribution Team Leaders and other Logistics/CIC teams where required to manage escalations and requests for feedback.
  • Manage interactions with the Risk and Distribution teams regarding non-compliance on company transport policies and procedures.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Operational Improvement
  • Manage execution of the load plans (from plan submission to settlement)
  • Manage the optimisation of 24-hour vehicle tracking to enable effective execution.
  • Ensure that the process of managing overall driver fatigue in place and monitored.
  • Monitor effective execution of second loads.
  • Monitor the execution of daily start-ups to ensure the escalation of delays impacting on execution.
  • Manage contractors, Suppliers, and raw materials (execution status reporting)
Skills, Experience & Education
  • A minimum of a Diploma in Logistics
  • At least 2 to 4 years' experience in Logistics, Distribution, Planning, Warehouse.
  • Good understanding of CCBA Logistics systems and processes.
  • Advanced PC skills (MS Excel, MSD 365, RoadNet, Planning tools, GreenMile)
  • Experience in managing a team.
  • Good understanding of Road Transport and related legislation and NOSA.
General
Perform administrative duties
  • Ensure that daily controls are adhered to.
  • Develop daily, weekly and monthly reports for the regions/districts.
  • Maintain and keep abreast with business best practice within the different regions and districts.
  • Manage man hours (allocation and distribution) to ensure effective delivery of outputs.
