Job Description


1. Strategy and Planning

  • Create and maintain the enterprisexe2x80x99s robust Network architecture design.
  • Drive the evaluation, development and implementation of network standards, procedures and guidelines to accommodate multiple platforms and diverse system environments.
  • Test, evaluate and install network enhancements to ensure that they are the best choices for Assupol.
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and oversee enforcement of change process, procedures and associated plans for the network infrastructure based on industry-standard best practices.
  • Design and implement disaster recovery plan for operating systems, databases, networks, servers, and software applications.
  • Assess a need for any network reconfigurations (minor or significant) and execute them if required.
  • Keep current with emerging network technologies enhancements and network monitoring tools.
  • Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network enhancements.
  • Provide input to network teams strategic direction in line with Assupolxe2x80x99s IT Strategy.
2. Acquisition and Deployment
  • Select and acquire additional network solutions or enhancements to existing Network solutions to improve overall enterprise network as per existing procurement processes.
  • Negotiate with different network vendors.
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform Network improvements, upgrades, and/or purchases.
  • Oversee the deployment, integration, and initial configuration of all new network solutions to enhance the existing network in accordance with best standard operating procedures.
3. Operational Management
  • Maintain the companyxe2x80x99s network enterprise solution to 99.9% uptime (excludes scheduled maintenance)
  • Manage and generate reports for network uptime to assess impact of network incidents to the Assupol branches (weekly and monthly).
  • Maintain network performance by monitoring and analyzing: Performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems to vendor.
  • Manage ISP/network vendors and resolve network related issues.
  • Create or update technical documentation for network installations or changes to existing installations.
  • Interact with internal IT teams to resolve network issues quickly and promptly.
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures
  • Manage, configure and troubleshooting of Layer 2 and Layer 3 network equipment.
  • Manage VLANs, Inter VLAN Routing, IP allocation & QoS configuration.
  • Understanding of network security methodologies, including but not limited to: ACLS, stateful firewalls and VPNs.
  • Planning of site installation and scheduling with relevant Assupol branches.
  • Using network monitoring tools to identify problems and find resolutions.
  • Implementation, maintenance and updates of the Core, Distribution and Access cisco switches
  • Manage, configure, troubleshoot and monitor Cisco MPLS/SD-WAN networks
  • Ability to configure and run common network admin and monitoring tools wireshark, Nmap, Nessus, Netflow, Sflow etc.
  • Provide guidance to junior members of the team.
Knowledge and Skills

Formal Education
  • IT related degree/diploma
Technical/Legal certification:
  • N+
  • CCNP Routing & Switching a must.
  • CCNA Wireless an advantage.
  • CCNA Collaboration an advantage
Experience
  • IT experience: 5 years minimum
  • Insurance industry experience: 3 years (Advantage)
