Sous Chef - Upmarket Catering - Cape Town
A premium corporate catering operation providing world-class dining services to an exclusive office environment. The venue features a 120-seater restaurant catering to approximately 600 professionals and their guests daily, offering both buffet and a la carte menus at a consistent five-star level. The operation employs a team of over 30 skilled hospitality professionals dedicated to excellence in food quality, presentation, and service.
Remuneration: R21 700
Days & Hours of Work:
Mainly Monday to Friday, operating hours from 7am to 5pm. Limited function work on weekends and evenings
Description

• Take creative lead on functions and a la carte service under the guidance of the Head Chef and Contract Manager
• Supervise shift teams and lead kitchen operations in the absence of senior management
• Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation
• Manage and train kitchen staff, oversee rostering, and ensure strong team performance
• Handle client feedback and manage service excellence
• Oversee stock control, orders, and requisitions

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior chef role within a high-end hotel or restaurant environment
• Matric
• Relevant tertiary culinary qualification
