Job Description

Job Summary This senior position requires a confident and capable professional who can step seamlessly into the Head Chef's shoes when needed, overseeing operations, supervising staff, and upholding the highest standards of food quality, hygiene, and presentation.
Core Criteria:

  • Formal culinary qualification
  • Proven experience as Sous Chef or similar senior role
  • Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
  • High standards of cleanliness, organization, and discipline
  • Ability to work in a remote lodge environment
Candidate Responsibilities:
  • Oversee kitchen operations and staff supervision
  • Ensure food quality, hygiene, and presentation standards
  • Enforce health & safety compliance
  • Manage prep, service, and stock control
  • Communicate effectively with management
This is a live-in position
Salary: R7,000 - R8,000 per month
Rations package worth R2,300/month
15 days annual leave
