To lead, manage, and coordinate the activities of the Nitrates team, ensuring operational excellence and optimal performance. The role supports the growth and development of the business by maximizing the efficiency, effectiveness, and contribution of the maintenance section within the Nitrates operations.

Lead, motivate, and develop the Nitrates team to achieve operational targets and KPIs.
Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Manage team performance, providing coaching, feedback, and development opportunities.
Ensure the maintenance section operates efficiently and effectively, supporting uninterrupted production.
Implement best practices and standards for process optimization, equipment reliability, and preventative maintenance.
Monitor and improve operational performance metrics, including downtime, maintenance costs, and compliance with safety standards.
Develop and execute short-term and long-term maintenance plans aligned with production schedules.
Coordinate activities within the team and across departments to optimize resource utilization.
Ensure timely reporting of operational issues, performance, and maintenance outcomes.
Ensure all activities comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Promote a safe working environment and actively manage operational risks.
Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments within the Nitrates operations.
Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and efficiency gains.
Implement initiatives to improve equipment performance and operational reliability.
Champion the adoption of new technologies and innovative maintenance practices.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless operational support.
Maintain effective communication with management, production, and technical teams.
Support business growth objectives by aligning maintenance activities with operational needs.
Qualifications & Experience
Matric certificate / NQF Level 4 in Chemical Operations.
National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-4 years' experience in team management within a process or chemical operations environment.
Strong understanding of maintenance planning, equipment reliability, and operational excellence.
