VRM Overview

Fraud prevention solutions are a key component of an issuerxe2x80x99s risk management strategy. They also serve to foster consumer confidence in the payments ecosystem and help expand consumer spend across a wide selection of services, channels and form factors for POS, e-commerce and mobile payment transactions.

Visa Risk Manager (VRM) is a web-based suite of tools that provides issuers with the control and flexibility to manage to their risk strategies and risk tolerance. It helps issuers better manage fraud and improve their risk decisioning capabilities.

Team Summary

The CEMEA Client Services VRM/VCAS Advisory Team is responsible for delivering client consultancy services across the CEMEA region. This Value-Added Service provides best-in-class recommendations for optimizing Visa Risk Manager (VRM) and VCAS rules that will reduce fraud, improve consumer experience and increase issuer revenues. Clients will subscribe to one-time or annual advisory subscriptions.



The Senior Consultant will be a subject matter expert for VRM, providing excellent technical support and act as a consultant for the product.

This role is responsible for providing consultancy level expertise to clients who subscribe to VRM Advisory projects. The incumbent will deliver CEMEA wide VRM optimisation services, tailoring client and market specific solutions using analytical insights to support fraud strategy management. Client engagements will vary from moderate to complex depending on client and length of each engagement.

Additionally, the Senior Consultant will work cross functionally within and outside of the CEMEA region. The incumbent will demonstrate an in-depth technical knowledge of Visa Risk and Authorization products and services providing technical support where needed. The incumbent will also develop and train team members and act as role model/leader within team.

Key Responsibilities.

  • Provide consultancy services to CEMEA VRM clients.
  • Lead client VRM discussions from both a technical and business perspective with clientxe2x80x99s fraud, operations, project and customer services teams as well as senior executives
  • Understand customer needs, business requirements, fraud strategies and priorities to develop VRM solutions and recommendations
  • Optimize client VRM portfolios through review, analysis and rules clean-up
  • Identify and propose strategic VRM rule recommendations that meet established key performance metrics
  • Perform regular client portfolio monitoring of VRM rule performance and fraud environment to ensure reactivity to emerging trends
  • Write detailed reports on performance, findings and recommendations
  • Prepare and lead scheduled strategic engagements that review portfolio performance, detail recommendations and highlight industry fraud trends
  • Collaborate with Product, Sales, Account Management and Consultancy teams to identify client pipeline and manage resource allocation
  • Maintain strong relations amongst team, as well as with key stakeholders across the organization
  • Promote and deliver bespoke training to clients
  • Build and enhance positive working relationships with clients and partners to develop solutions and optimal way of working
  • Act as the voice of the client to other internal groups, including the Product and Technical teams
  • Manage and troubleshoot VRM technical problems, interfacing with Product Development, Product Management, and/or Operations teams
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve VRM or related business issues to exceed customer expectations
  • Train and coach team members on VRM day-to-day operations to ensure customer expectations are exceeded
  • Travel may be required
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD
8-10 years of experience in risk and risk product commercially focused roles required
Strategic thinking skills xe2x80x93 ability to anticipate upcoming trends and changes in the broader environment and apply them to Risk and Authentication products
Strong commercial acumen: understands the economics of clientxe2x80x99s business and how security and authentication products can impact a clientxe2x80x99s P&L as well as the commercial drivers of Visaxe2x80x99s business.
Demonstrated success in customer relationship management
Able to convey technical and business issues to various internal and external audiences effectively to support organizational plans.
Understanding of key business metrics and how to use data to inform business decisions
Able to shift priorities and demonstrate a proactive willingness to influence others, and manage customer expectations
Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to achieve results as part of an effective team, and ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task under deadlines
Experience analysing large amounts of data using various analysis tools and turning insights into actionable strategies to detect and mitigate fraud
Strong independent strategic thinking, outstanding verbal and written communication, presentation and analytical skills with an ability to deliver results, communicate complex concepts and results.
Strong problem-solving skills xe2x80x93 able to analytically break down problems into a solution
Comfortable using standard MS Office tools (e.g. MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications
9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD in Computing or business-related subjects
Knowledge of Visa Security & Authentication Products preferred (including Visa Secure, Visa Consumer Authentication Service, Visa Advanced Authorization, Visa Risk Manager, Tokenization, Visa Analytics Platform and others).
Ideally a minimum of 3 yearsxe2x80x99 experience of processing/ecommerce systems and services, and their practical application
Minimum of 3 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in a customer support /Account Management role in financial services, software, or information services
Demonstrated ability to influence change at client side
In-market experience and/or knowledge of local language and culture as well as regulation and industry trends preferred Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills required
Knowledge of competitive products such as Falcon, SaaS, or others, a plus
High energy, motivated team player, able to effectively lead across functions and teams to drive projects and key initiatives to completion.
Languages preferred but not required
Familiar with Payment Industry Standards and their application
Enjoys learning about complex concepts and finding effective ways to communicate them in a clear, concise manner.
