On the hunt for a Senior Cloud Architect in JHB!
This is a strategic leadership role for a seasoned cloud architect ready to own the cloud vision, define secure multi-tenant architectures, and deliver scalable, cost-effective infrastructure across one of South Africa's most data-driven healthcare environments. This isn't a role for someone who only draws diagrams - it's built for someone who can design, build, and guide teams toward cloud-native excellence.
The successful candidate will lead architecture decisions, design cloud security, support cloud migrations, and influence project delivery across hybrid environments.

Duties:

• Develop and implement enterprise-wide cloud strategies, architecture, and security frameworks.
• Architect and maintain scalable Azure environments across IaaS and PaaS solutions.
• Design hybrid and cloud-native infrastructure integrating on-prem solutions.
• Configure and manage Azure Virtual Networks and core enterprise services.
• Lead infrastructure projects from solution design to deployment, ensuring best practices are followed.
• Own disaster recovery (DR), high availability (HA), and business continuity plans in cloud ecosystems.
• Engage with cross-functional teams to develop governance, identity, and operational blueprints.
• Provide technical leadership and oversight during cloud migrations and deployments.
• Conduct research and proof-of-concepts for evaluating third-party software and cloud tools.
• Participate in enterprise architecture forums to drive innovation and alignment.
• Maintain industry knowledge on emerging trends and proactively evolve the cloud posture.

Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (or Cloud Architect equivalent).
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.
• Microsoft Certified: Implementing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions.
• Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist.

Experience:

• Minimum 8 - 10 years in a senior-level IT infrastructure or architecture role.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in Microsoft technology and cloud solution design.
• Track record of delivering large-scale Azure-based cloud infrastructure projects.
• Experience with Azure SQL, Data Lake, Databricks, and enterprise data security.
• Experience working within enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies.

Skills & Competencies:

• Deep expertise in Azure infrastructure, virtualisation, and architecture design.
• Ability to develop secure, scalable, multi-tenant frameworks.
• Strong PowerShell scripting and automation background.
• Understanding of compliance, data protection, and security best practices in cloud.
• Capable of leading cross-functional technical teams and mentoring staff.
• Skilled in integrating 3rd party hosted and on-prem services into Azure cloud environments.
• Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement capabilities
• Familiar with modern infrastructure trends including DevOps, automation, and observability.
• Strategic thinker able to align infrastructure architecture with broader business objectives.
