Job Description
Purpose of the Job:
To assist the department in investigating complaints of alleged contraventions of the Financial Sector Regulation Act (FSR Act) and other financial sector laws whilst upholding the quality and integrity expected of the Financial Sector Conduct Authority. The person appointed to this position will report to a Manager.
Key Performance Areas:
- Investigate complaints relating to contraventions of the FSR Act and other financial sector laws;
- Ensure that regulatory action is taken when contravention is confirmed;
- Deal with debarments of persons who have been found to have materially contravened the FSR Act and/or any sector law;
- Deal with suspensions and withdrawals of entities authorised in terms of the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act (FAIS Act);
- Liaise with investigators on investigations conducted in terms of the FSR Act;xe2x80xa2 and
- Be able to perform administrative and other activities relating to the regulatory framework.
Candidates must demonstrate the following skills and attributes: A high level of judgement and a confident and decisive approach, problem analysis, information gathering, communication skills (verbal and written), good interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, customer relations and persuasiveness skills. Good knowledge and/or experience of the functioning of the FAIS Act and other financial sector laws, and knowledge of the Workflow system is essential.

An LLB or bachelorxe2x80x99s degree in law or related field with 3 to 5 years working experience. Candidates must have an understanding of the FSR Act and other financial sector laws.
