RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the smooth functioning of security operations at the manufacturing plant (A-Plant), satellite plants/ facilities and security assessment (audit) of the security services by applying company policies and procedures to ensure maximum security of employees and company assets
Analyse daily incident reports, formulate and implement appropriate actions to provide a proactive security service aimed at reducing the risk of loss to the company and the well-being of employees
Liaise/ inform supervision and management on security issues related to the company to ensure the safety and well-being of all employees and company property
Ensure the upkeep of departmental equipment and facilities (two-way radios, torches, cloakrooms, security cabins, etc.) to provide security personnel with the necessary equipment and facilities to perform their tasks efficiently
Coordinate and approve manpower allocation of security officers as required to ensure the safety and well-being of all employees and company property
Prepare and present training for contract security personnel, to ensure a competent, informed and motivated workforce to apply their skills to minimise the risk of loss to the company and ensure the safety of employees
Coordinate audits and ensure that administrative duties (requisition, accounts, registers, information book, etc.) related to the function are timeously and efficiently carried out by the senior security officers (functional) to ensure an excellent service to all customers and the company
Participate in duty officer duties to ensure maximum control during any emergency which may arise during non-working hours
Audit and control the company ID card operation (photo development, etc.), which includes updated employee contracts to assist in assuring maximum control of access
Coordinate, audit and control the company's public transport services as per production requirements to provide an excellent transport service to our employees
Coordinate with the security service provider regarding the recruitment and training of security personnel to act as a pool to deploy on site at short notice, ensuring the guaranteed availability of security staff
Assess group security work instructions and security service provider site instructions every month (amendments) and accurately update to ensure the quality of the security operations processes
Evaluate the deployment of contractually required security staff nationally and, in the event of short postings identified, request credit notes from the service provider to optimise and recover costs
Coordinate and ensure, together with internal and service provider management, that national key security operational requirements are measured as KPIs
Biannually or as required, assess the security measures for the SOFA operation and ensure that adequate security measures are in place to provide a safe and secure environment for the group's visitors (local and international) to ensure the quality of and competence of the security operation. This entails the deployment of security manpower from the Kimberly and Cape Town regions
Create and maintain a daily 'live action plan' which records and monitors activities, incidents and security requirements to enhance the effectiveness of the security operation
