Restaurant Manager - Upscale Hotel Restaurant - Musgrave Durban
Our client, a well-established upscale hotel and restaurant destination in Musgrave, Durban, is seeking an experienced and professional Restaurant Manager to lead daily operations and deliver a consistently high standard of service. This role is suited to a strong hospitality leader with 4/5-star experience and proven knowledge of MICROS / POS systems, who can start immediately.
Description
The Restaurant Manager will be responsible for the overall management of the restaurant, ensuring smooth service delivery, strong team leadership, and exceptional guest experiences. This is a hands-on management role requiring excellent operational control, staff supervision, and attention to detail in a high-volume, quality-driven environment.
Working closely with senior management and the kitchen team, the successful candidate will ensure service standards, financial controls, and guest satisfaction targets are consistently met and exceeded.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily restaurant operations, including service, staff, and guest relations
• Lead, train, and motivate front-of-house staff to maintain 4/5-star service standards
• Ensure consistent guest satisfaction and professional complaint handling
• Oversee reservations, table management, and floor operations
• Manage staff rosters, attendance, and performance
• Use MICROS POS for billing, reporting, and operational control
• Maintain cash handling procedures, stock control, and cost awareness
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations
• Liaise closely with the kitchen to ensure smooth service flow
• Uphold brand standards and represent the business professionally at all times

Position Details

• Location: Musgrave, Durban
• Salary: R25,000 - R30,000 (depending on experience)

Minimum Requirements

• Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager in a 4 or 5-star hotel or restaurant environment
• Strong working knowledge of MICROS POS (essential)

• High attention to detail with strong operational discipline
• Ability to perform under pressure in a busy service environment
• Professional, guest-focused, and solutions-driven approach
• Available to start immediately
