Job Description

• Conduct and manage site inspections, including collecting energy data and conducting comprehensive energy needs assessments
• Implement energy interventions projects that promote sustainable development in agriculture
• Integrate IoT and AI technologies with renewable energy systems
• Develop accurate and appropriate technical specifications based on site data
• Ensure adherence to sound engineering principles and code of practice
• Project Management: Maintain project schedules by managing key milestones, issuing updates, and communicating reminders and notices
• Project monitoring and evaluation (M&E)
• Oversee and coordinate supply chain logistics to ensure timely project delivery, including sign-off processes and invoicing
• Support project completion by recording discussions, drafting action items, and ensuring accountability across stakeholders
• Document visual site progress through photography and other means, as needed for reporting
• Assist in the preparation of final project reports and contribute to planning for subsequent phases
• Proficient in computer programs, preferably MS Office Software (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• The disclosure of a valid unexpired driver's license, with the willingness to travel as required

• NQF Level 6 (National Diploma) in Mechanical/Electrical, Electro-mechanical//Mechatronics engineering.
• Practical experience in agricultural settings is highly advantageous.
• Compulsory registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineering Technician (Pr Techni Eng)
• Minimum of Three (3) years of hands-on, on-site experience post qualification in a technical engineering environment is required.
• Experience in renewable energy technologies such as wind and solar energy projects is an added advantage
• Prior project management experience in South African rural or remote farm settings is an added advantage.
• Excellent organizational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking ability.
• Good communication skills (written and verbal).
