Conduct and manage site inspections, including collecting energy data and conducting comprehensive energy needs assessments
Implement energy interventions projects that promote sustainable development in agriculture
Integrate IoT and AI technologies with renewable energy systems
Develop accurate and appropriate technical specifications based on site data
Ensure adherence to sound engineering principles and code of practice
Project Management: Maintain project schedules by managing key milestones, issuing updates, and communicating reminders and notices
Project monitoring and evaluation (M&E)
Oversee and coordinate supply chain logistics to ensure timely project delivery, including sign-off processes and invoicing
Support project completion by recording discussions, drafting action items, and ensuring accountability across stakeholders
Document visual site progress through photography and other means, as needed for reporting
Assist in the preparation of final project reports and contribute to planning for subsequent phases
Proficient in computer programs, preferably MS Office Software (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
The disclosure of a valid unexpired driver's license, with the willingness to travel as required
NQF Level 6 (National Diploma) in Mechanical/Electrical, Electro-mechanical//Mechatronics engineering.
Practical experience in agricultural settings is highly advantageous.
Compulsory registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineering Technician (Pr Techni Eng)
Minimum of Three (3) years of hands-on, on-site experience post qualification in a technical engineering environment is required.
Experience in renewable energy technologies such as wind and solar energy projects is an added advantage
Prior project management experience in South African rural or remote farm settings is an added advantage.
Excellent organizational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking ability.
Good communication skills (written and verbal).
