About the Role
GWO Inc., a U.S.-based federal construction contractor, is seeking a
Remote Lead Estimator
to help prepare bids for nationwide projects. You'll analyze U.S. construction drawings, perform takeoffs, identify gaps, and help shape winning bid strategies -- all from South Africa.We're looking for candidates who've worked with
international clients
or remote construction teams.Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret civil, architectural, and MEP drawings Perform quantity takeoffs and bid organization Flag scope gaps and submit RFIs Communicate clearly with U.S. team (in English) Guide junior estimators and collaborate remotely Use tools like Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or Procore
Qualifications
3+ years of construction estimating experience Experience with U.S. or Western firms is
required
Strong English fluency (spoken and written) Ability to work independently and meet deadlinesMust have worked with international clients or remote construction teams.
Tools We Use
Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Procore, Buildertrend Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive) TestGorilla (assessment platform for screening)
Soft Skills
Detail-oriented and methodical Comfortable leading conversations with other estimators Can teach or oversee junior team members Can communicate assertively but respectfully across cultures
