Our client, a well-established boutique lodge in a remote and historically significant part of KwaZulu-Natal, is looking for a dynamic and guest-focused Reception & Relief Duty Manager to join their close-knit team. This live-in role offers an opportunity to gain broad operational experience in a unique setting.
Description
This exclusive lodge is known for offering personalised service and immersive guest experiences, with a strong focus on historical and cultural storytelling. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for front-of-house duties, guest interaction, and assisting the Lodge Manager across various departments as needed.
Ideal for a young, ambitious hospitality professional, this hands-on role requires excellent communication skills, adaptability, and the ability to step confidently into any area of lodge operations. The position offers en-suite accommodation, meals, and laundry, making it an excellent lifestyle opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a remote and engaging environment.
Key Responsibilities:

• Managing reception and guest services
• Supporting general lodge operations
• Assisting in housekeeping, kitchen oversight, and stock control
• Reservations and administration (SEMPER experience advantageous)
• Staff coordination and relief management across departments
• Delivering a warm, personal guest experience

Start Date: ASAP
Salary: From R8,000, negotiable depending on experience (includes live-in accommodation, all meals, and laundry)
Minimum Requirements

• Previous lodge or boutique hotel experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Fluent in English (essential)
• Valid driver's license (own vehicle preferred)
• High level of personal presentation and professionalism
• Flexible, team-oriented, and solution-driven
• A good sense of humour and positive energy
