Quality And Accreditation Manager | Centurion

Centurion, GP, ZA, South Africa

Job Description

At the heart of this role lies a commitment to excellence. As the Quality and Accreditation Manager, you will be entrusted with shaping and sustaining a culture where quality is not just a standard - it is a way of working. You will lead the charge in embedding robust quality and safety frameworks across our laboratories and support services, ensuring that every process reflects our dedication to precision, compliance, and continuous improvement.

This is more than a technical role; it is a leadership opportunity. You will inspire teams to embrace high performance, empower others to take ownership of quality outcomes, and create experiences that spark engagement and pride in the work we do. Through your strategic vision and collaborative spirit, you will help build capabilities that prepare us for the future, while attracting and nurturing talent that will carry our mission forward.

Role Requirements

To thrive in this role, you must bring a solid foundation in medical technology, backed by a relevant qualification and HPCSA registration as a Medical Technologist, Scientist, or Pathologist. A management or total quality management qualification will serve you well, as will professional certifications that demonstrate your depth of expertise. You are expected to be a qualified auditor with training in ISO standards including 15189, 17025, 9001, 17043, and 23087. These credentials are not just boxes to tick, they are the tools you will use to uphold our commitment to quality and compliance across every touchpoint. You bring with you 8-10 years of progressive experience in accreditation and quality management, ideally within a pathology laboratory environment. Your journey has equipped you with the insight and resilience needed to lead in a complex, regulated space. Prior management experience will be an advantage, as this role calls for someone who can guide, support, and elevate others. Your expertise spans Quality Management Systems, health and safety compliance, laboratory quality control, and regulatory engagement. You have not only worked within these frameworks, you have shaped them, improved them, and ensured they serve both operational excellence and strategic goals.

Skills Requirements

You are a forward-thinker, able to anticipate challenges and respond with clarity and confidence. Your strategic mindset allows you to integrate total quality management and safety into the broader vision of the organisation, balancing immediate needs with long-term aspirations. Communication is one of your strongest tools. You know how to engage stakeholders at every level, translating complex compliance requirements into clear, actionable insights. Your understanding of business procedures, financial principles, and operational efficiencies enables you to make informed decisions that support both quality and sustainability.

You are deeply knowledgeable in QMS standards and digital systems, and you understand the intricacies of SHE regulations in diagnostics and healthcare. You adapt quickly to change, think creatively to solve problems, and build strong, collaborative teams. Your leadership style is rooted in empathy, trust, and a shared commitment to excellence.

Role Impact

In this role, your impact will be felt across the organisation. You will lead the development and maintenance of our Total Quality system, ensuring that safety and accreditation processes are not only compliant but also aligned with best practices. You will guide teams through training and implementation, fostering a culture where quality is everyone's responsibility. You will represent us on national and international platforms, bringing visibility to our standards and contributing to broader industry conversations. Through audits, assessments, and strategic initiatives, you will drive continuous improvement and ensure that our quality systems evolve with the needs of our people and our patients. Your leadership will extend to managing the internal Quality department, overseeing budgets, and supporting strategic projects such as business continuity planning. You will be a key voice in shaping our future--attracting the right talent, developing capabilities, and ensuring that our commitment to quality remains unwavering.
