Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Hotel Purchasing Officer to manage procurement activities across the hotel. The successful candidate will ensure timely and cost-effective purchasing of goods and services while maintaining high standards of quality, supplier relations, and inventory control.
Critical Criteria (Requirements)

  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in hotel procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably within a 4/5-star hotel or large-scale hospitality environment
  • Knowledge of hospitality products, equipment, and supplier networks
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and inventory management or procurement software
  • Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure
  • South African citizen with a valid ID

? Supplier Relationship Management - Builds and maintains strong relationships with suppliers and vendors
? Attention to Detail - Ensures accurate purchase orders, invoices, and inventory records
? Team Collaboration - Works closely with F&B, engineering, housekeeping, and other departments to anticipate and meet purchasing needs
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Source, negotiate, and purchase goods and services for all hotel departments
  • Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, supplier contracts, and invoices
  • Monitor inventory levels and recommend replenishment to prevent shortages
  • Ensure all purchasing activities comply with hotel policies and budgets
  • Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability
  • Support cost-control initiatives and identify opportunities for savings
  • Collaborate with department heads to forecast requirements and plan purchases
  • Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and resolve any supply chain issues
  • Live and promote the hotel's values of Teamwork, Respect, Innovation, Accountability, Passion, and Integrity
