The Principal Software Architect - API defines the strategy and platform architecture for our Digital Fabric supporting our platform delivered services. This spans all our Managed and Technical Services including core platform elements

Our Digital Fabric concept is a core element of our Services Platform that encompasses our API ecosystem, canonical data models and connectivity spokes between the various components of our broader Services Platform landscape. The Digital Fabric serves as an integration point between our numerous service delivery platforms and our client facing platform components - aggregating and brokering data exchange from many disparate service delivery platforms into a standardised canonical data model used for driving a unified client experience. These platform components are key intellectual property that NTT develops to provide a unified client experience despite fronting a many distinct service delivery platforms as a result of acquisitions and consolidations within NTT. As such it is a both a core and strategic component of the NTT Platform strategy.

The Principal Software Architect - API leverages elements of enterprise architecture and software architecture, focusing on these domains and how this supports the overall Platform Delivered Services architecture.

The Principal Software Architect - API consults with stakeholders, both leadership, subject matter experts and other platform and software architects, to advise on and build a holistic view of the organization's strategy, processes, information, and information technology assets as it relates to Services. Some of the key objectives of this role and platform include:

API Approach

Data Canonical Models

Integration Architecture

Reference architectures and associated platform requirements

Automation and orchestration approaches and platforms

Large scale data management and processing, including introduction of machine learning and AI.

Assessing acquisition and other R&D team solutions and how these can be leveraged in the Services Platform and overall unified Service Delivery and client experience

It is the responsibility of the Principal Software Architect - API to take this knowledge and ensure that the Business, Platform Development, Regions, other R&D teams and I&T are in alignment and in so doing they provide enterprise architecture consulting services to Business and Platform R&D to analyse and provide holistic strategies and solutions aligned with all aspects of enterprise architectural requirements and strategy.

What will make you a good fit for the role?

The Principal Software Architect - API is the foremost expert at designing holistic software architectures by applying their knowledge of existing relevant architectural frameworks and software engineering frameworks and best practices. They display deep knowledge of relevant architectural domains in including:

Application and integration architecture and patterns

Software architecture and patterns

Data and information architectures

Technical and infrastructure Architectures

Their objective is to operate across organizational and platform "silos" to drive common approaches and expose information assets and processes across the enterprise with a focus on the Client Journey and Experience as an integrated experience. Their goal is to deliver this architecture efficiently, securely, and meeting the company's business needs.

The Principal Software Architect - API acts as the senior most expert in the NTT Limited organisation for this domain and they mentor and coach senior and less experienced enterprise architects.

This role is part of a cross functional Architecture team in the Digital Platform and Development Team, and reports to the VP of Platform Delivered Serviced Architecture.
