Conducts analysis, design, evaluation, modification, testing and implementation of enterprisewide systems (e.g., finance, human resources, payroll, supply chain, client relationship management) across functional areas. Plans and directs studies of potential electronic data processing applications and prepares design proposals to reflect cost, time and alternative actions to satisfy existing and future needs of the corporation. Develops test plans and protocols for evaluation of system performance. Conducts analysis of systems specifications and uses the latest analysis/diagramming tools to represent business/technical processes. Develops conversion and system implementation plans. Prepares and obtains approval of system and programming documentation. Recommends changes in development, maintenance and system standards. Coordinates system upgrade activity. Trains user personnel in the conversion and implementation of the system.

A Principal Data Architect is responsible for consulting with internal stakeholders, around complex information technology enterprise architecture. They work with stakeholders, both leadership and subject matter experts, to build a holistic view of the organisationxe2x80x99s strategy, processes, information, and information technology assets. The responsibility of the Principal Data Architect is to take this knowledge and ensure that the business and IT are in alignment and in so doing they provide enterprise architecture consulting services to analyse and provide holistic strategies and solutions on all aspects of enterprise architectural requirements.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Serve as an advisor to senior business management on business and information integration strategies

Evaluate internal functions, business development strategies and IT processes and suggest improvements

Create business architecture models to reflect the organization's strategies and goals and create and implement business visions and goals

Improve the current IT infrastructure, optimizing business operations, and setting the direction and approach for integrating information applications and programs

Responsible for cataloguing, developing, coordinating, communicating, maintaining, and enforcing overall enterprise architecture models, representations, initiatives, capabilities, and components to adequately perform the organization's business and technology activities

Suggest ideas to reduce costs in IT and business leadership

Provide business architecture and systems processing guidance

Ensure the efficiency, security, and support of the organization's goals

Creating methods for compliance architecture, such as data storage, metadata management, and change control

Provide consultancy in business process analysis and design, and service delivery, particularly with respect to the use of information, trends, and directions

Provide architectural leadership in the resolutions of cross-programme, and cross-project architecture issues

Update and maintain key enterprise architecture deliverables

Conduct ongoing research and assessment of new analysis approach for potential use within the organisation

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

Ability to integrate big data analytics into the existing IT landscape

Knowledge of architectural methodologies and frameworks to be able to implement strategies effectively

Be the expert in IT and computer networking to ensure the organizationxe2x80x99s architecture

Ability to stay on top of the latest trends and technologies that may improve any business

Excellent communication skills to work with various leaders throughout the organization to support the goals and objectives of the organization

Excellent technical, analytical and project management skills

Display the ability to develop and publish white papers

Possess the ability to engage with internal and external audiences in a clear, effective, and appropriate manner.

Display the ability to collaborate and facilitate an understanding of technical issues

Display knowledge of business strategic processes and information technology delivery

Possess knowledge of information technology governance

Display effective interviewing, data collection and synthesis skills

Possess proficient IT governance and operations, technology components and modelling for IT investment knowledge

Display good project and program management planning and organizational skills

Demonstrate problem analysis and solution formulation skills

Demonstrate systems thinking skills

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

Bachelorxe2x80x99s degree or equivalent in Information Technology or Computer Science or related

Required certification(s) such as TOGAF / ITIL/ COBIT

Required Experience:

Proven experience as an Principal Data Architect gained within a similar matrixed information technology environment

Proven experience in system architecture

Experience in data strategy

Strong experience of Azure data lake
