Want to be a part of our team? Senior Principal Technical Architect: ServiceNow is a people management role and is responsible for the efficient management of the IT Systems / Application Architecture Management team(s).

This role has dual responsibility for managing people, as well as being accountable for the provision of expert support on a variety of applications and their integrated functions and interfaces to ensure high-quality IT application services and that projects deliver to meet company business objectives.

Key role and responsibilities:

• Provide expert multi-technology advice to internal clients, analyzing and providing strategies and solutions on all aspects of application software
• Efficiently manage the function/team, ensuring they are equipped and enabled to perform their day-to-day tasks
• Oversee the post-implementation support on business applications, as well as manages, takes ownership of, and participates in new project implementations and rollouts
• Provide business and technical knowledge sharing/mentoring to less experienced team members on related change/enhancement requests, manage and review the applications design, development, and testing
• Directs the activities of a staff integrating hardware and/or software framework, systems and/or product design functions or designing underlying architecture for use in one or more product offerings. Evaluates final results of design assuring accomplishment of technical objectives.
• Prepares and presents reports outlining the outcome of projects and makes recommendations for actions necessary to achieve desired results.
• Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
• Keep abreast of any reviews and authorisation requests to move new functionality into production
• Oversee the translation of business change/enhancement requests from business users into detailed functional/technical analysis and design specifications, perform unit testing and conduct user acceptance testing before releasing functionality to production systems
• Collaborate with all the relevant stakeholders to ensure the functional specifications are signed off and kept up to date
• Ensure the coordination of the change/enhancement requests and provide accurate resourcing estimates, working closely with business process owners to prioritize and implement robust maintainable IT application solutions
• Oversee the continual identification of areas of business process improvement, drives and facilitates changes, and gains user consensus for change management
• Collaborate on application design with internal stakeholders, implement and monitor application development stages, and document application development processes.
• May write scripts and code for applications, as well as install and update applications.
• Perform application integration, maintenance, upgrades, and migration.
• Integrate trends in application architecture in application development projects.
• Ensure a seamless integration of new and existing systems to eliminate potential problems and maintain data structure and integrity
• Keep abreast of latest technologies and provide thought-leadership to the team / broader community
• Oversee the improvement of internal effectiveness by contributing to improving current methodologies, processes, and tools
• Coach, mentor and develop the team to enable them to achieve business strategy and related objectives

Knowledge, skills, and attributes:

• Knowledge of the architectural methods and the typical solutions that can be applied to different cases
• Ability to think both as a businessperson and a technical expert
• Analytical in their approach couple with problem-solving ability
• Display the required interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with a variety of stakeholders
• Ability to lead and manage a team of technical experts
• Ability to share and communicate ideas clearly, both orally and in writing, to executive staff, business sponsors, and technical resources in clear concise language

Academic qualifications and certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science with a specialization in software engineering, application development, or similar
• Industry certification in programming languages and architecture design
• Scaled Agile certification would be preferred

Required experience:

• Hands-on experience in multiple industries and across several disciplines
• Experience with projects through the software development process or Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Demonstrated experience working as an application architect in a global IT services provider organization
• Demonstrated experience leading and managing a technical team within a similar team environment / global matrixed organisation
• Experience writing technical and process documentation
• Proficient in programming languages, such as SQL, Java, C, and .NET, etc
• Demonstrated experience in aligning application development with business needs
