Job Description
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To perform day to day Mechanical Operator tasks and activities as specified according to operational procedures and requirements.
QUALIFICATION(S) & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Grade 12 or N3 with Mathematics and Science
Experience:
At least 1-year relevant experience in a Chemical plant environment regarding equipment maintenance. General knowledge of the technical field.
Ideal Requirements
Qualifications:
(Same as minimum plus the following)National Diploma
Training:
Relevant registered skills programs or unit standards successfully completed
Experience:
At least 2-3-year experience relevant to the technical field
HEADLINE KEY RESULT AREAS:
Prepare work area for an Artisan Conduct inspections for preventative maintenance Use correct equipment to line up equipment to specifications Carry out minor arc welding/gas welding and cutting work Interpret sketches and drawings Carry out breakdown maintenance Dismantle/replace/repair/assemble and fit engineering equipment/components Remove/replace and align equipment (gearboxes; pumps; V-Belts ) Ensure quality of work and safety standards are adhered to Ensure good housekeeping
