Job Description
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To perform day to day Mechanical Operator tasks and activities as specified according to operational procedures and requirements.
QUALIFICATION(S) & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Qualifications:
Grade 12 or N3 with Mathematics and Science
Experience:
At least 1-year relevant experience in a chemical plant environment with regard to equipment maintenance.
General knowledge of the technical field.
Ideal Requirements
Qualifications: (Same as minimum plus the following)
- National Diploma
Relevant registered skills programs or unit standards successfully completed
Experience:
At least 23-year experience relevant to the technical field
HEADLINE KEY RESULT AREAS:
- Prepare work area for an Artisan
- Use correct equipment and tools for purpose of grinding, cleaning off fabricated equipment.
- Interpret sketches and specifications.
- Carry out breakdown maintenance
- Dismantle/replace/repair/assemble and fit engineering equipment/components
- Able to work with workshop equipment, cranes, Forklift, hoists, slings and job-related tools.
- Ensure quality of work and safety standards are adhered to.
- Ensure general Housekeeping and clean-up after work is always completed.
- Prepared to perform Standby duties as scheduled.
