Safair Operations, operating as FlySafair, has a vacancy for a Manager: Flight Deck Crew / Chief Pilot at our head office in Bonaero Park. The successful applicant will report to the Senior Manager: Flight Operations.

RESPONSILIBITIES:

• The Manager Flight Deck Crew (Chief Pilot) will be responsible for managing all aspects related to the Flight Deck Crew which include crew optimisation, long term crew planning, recruitment and maintaining the highest operational standards;
• Define the department goals in line with the company strategy and effectively monitor performance against it;
• The Manager: Flight Deck Crew will ensure safe and effective operations through the implementation of all operational and safety policies, AOC compliance, Aviation Regulations and Company SOPxe2x80x99s adherence;
• The Manager Flight Deck Crew is responsible for defining and upholding the quality and standard of flight operations by developing and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures;
• Developing and/or implementing all required approved training programs for the FlySafair flight deck crew;
• Issuing directives and notices to the flight deck crews as required;
• Ensure operational suitability of all aerodromes and routes served by FlySafair;
• Processing and actioning of any flight crew reports;
• Ensure proficiency checks are conducted and managed;
• Optimum use of Flight Crew resources;
• Have regular staff engagements with the crew which will include the Fleet Captains, Line Check Captains and Training Captains;
• Drive fuel and cost efficiency strategies;
• Assist the PRFO with delegated responsibilities;
• Created a productive working environment and synergy amongst all crew;
• Keep the crew updated with all company and SACAA regulatory changes;
• Focus on long term business priorities and solutions.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12;
• Valid ATP with command rating on the B737;
• Tertiary / Management qualification will be advantages;
• High performer with proven track record of managing people and systems;
• Excellent knowledge of CAA regulations and procedures;
• Must have the ability to influence and optimise company policies and procedures;
• Sound system knowledge and the ability to define KPIxe2x80x99s and measure operational performance;
• This is a JHB based position;
• Will be classified as Office staff (i.e. primarily office duties with Limited flying).
