Job Description

We are looking for a pro-active Management Accountant and Leader for our Accounting and Settlement team for our financial department based primarily in our Sandton, Johannesburg office. You will manage regular management reporting and forecasting tasks and also manage daily our accounting and settlement team of four. Be part of a team of 12 accountants working to provide accurate information, improve profitability, improve systems and ensured transparency for the companyxe2x80x99s finances mainly in South Africa but also across the SEAM region which includes also Mauritius and Uganda.

The ideal candidate will be open to learn insurance accounting principles and able to work comfortably with numbers, be proactive with deadlines and pay attention to detail.

The goal is to contribute to the overall efficient operation of the department and the business, reporting to and working closely with the CFO, and in close liaison with the Financial manager as needed.

The successful candidate will join WTW as Management Accountant and Accounting & Settlement Manager. The role is optionally hybrid subject to performance and achievement of deliverables.

The Role

• Timeous management P&L and revenue, debtors and associated reporting
• Revenue budgeting and forecasting of revenue
• Update general ledger and perform / review GL reconciliations xe2x80x93 eg bad debts, IFRS 16 and review claims, bank and sub-ledger reconciliations
• Other aspects include maintaining fixed asset registers, intercompany accounting
• Input and preparation of board monthly leadership packs, quarterly board packs,
• Update BU profitability models regularly
• Prepare input in to fee model bi-annually
• Annual exchange control approvals
• Liaison with auditors as needed
• Monthly analysis of revenue vs budget and prior year to establish reasons for variances such as new, organic, timing or lost for the Management Reporting Pack
• Manage Accounting & Settlement team of 3 and ensuring monthly payments runs are completed and urgent payments are reviewed and dealt with

The Requirements

• Formally Completed accredited articles preferably with a small or medium sized auditing firm.
• Completed Bachelor degree in accountancy (including Accounts 3 completed)
• CIMA qualified or costing experience advantageous
• Excellent organizing abilities

• Great attention to detail, and ability to work effectively on completing tasks and processes independently whilst providing easily reviewable work
• Good with numbers and figures
• Team spirit
• Excellent Excel skills including Pivot Tables
• Comfortable with PowerPoint
