Job Summary

The company's Finance Department is looking for a Senior Creditors Clerk to join the team. The incumbent will be part of the Finance Team and report to the Financial Manager.

Duties:

  • Responsible for the timely integrity of the Accounts Payable age analysis on an ongoing basis
  • Prepare and submit a duly validated weekly payment listing, in accordance with supplier payment terms, to the Financial Manager
  • Identify and make recommendations to the Financial Manager regarding savings opportunities from early payment discounts, rebates and volume purchase discounts - track and confirm that these are indeed implemented
  • Provide assistance and support to the Creditors Clerk
  • Work with the Cost & Management Accountant and Assistant Financial Manager
  • Processing purchase orders & sales orders
  • Process supplier information: invoices, credit notes, journals, allocate supplier payments, prepare supplier accounts for payments and supplier reconciliations
  • Resolve account queries: supplier and customer
  • Analyse and report on outstanding accounts
  • Process customer information: invoices, debit notes, customer journal, allocate customer payments and customer reconciliations
  • Liaise with suppliers and service providers
  • Other tasks, as requested by the Financial Manager and/or Assistant Financial Manager, which may or may not pertain directly to Accounts Payable
Requirements:
  • Diploma or Certificate in bookkeeping, or a relevant tertiary qualification
  • At least 5 years of experience in a Creditors Clerk role
  • Experience processing Debtors (will be advantageous)
  • Experience working in the manufacturing industry (food manufacturing) will be beneficial
  • Computer literate: MS Office (Intermediate to Advanced Excel), with a sound knowledge of ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365: Finance & Operations would be advantageous)
  • Experience in dealing with foreign currency suppliers and customers will be advantageous
  • Experience with imports & exports will be advantageous
  • Analytical and logical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Able to work in a high-pressure environment and meet strict deadlines
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to maintain high standards, good work ethic and integrity
