Job Description

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cost and Management Accountant to join their team in Mpumalanga. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing financial operations, cost analysis, budgeting, and performance reporting within the plant. This position requires a deep understanding of cost accounting principles, exceptional analytical abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and implementing process improvements.

Duties and responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

• Accounting records, budgets and costings are prepared and maintained accurately and timeously.
• Ownership and Responsibility to ensure controls are implemented and maintained to protect the business and reduce the risk of negative financial impacts.
• Provide reports to support business and decision making - the reports should be accurate, timely, relevant, and insightful.
• Managing cashflow and working capital to support to support profitability and preserve cash.
• Finance as a business partner should hold the business accountable for decisions made, while continuously supporting the business strategy, goals, and budgets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data, implement best practices, streamline workflows and enhance overall operational effectiveness.
• Tracking and reporting production numbers and variances,
• Implementing and maintaining inventory controls
• Supporting the Finance Manager in managing the accounts payable and general ledger processes
• Ensuring the day to day operations of the Finance function at factory level.
• Assisting in the preparation of financial reports for management and external stakeholders
• Assist with implementation, compliance and maintenance of financial controls
• Conducting variance analysis and identifying trends and issues.
• Providing support for the business
• Purchase orders/Supplier Processing
• Production processing and reporting
• Journals
• Reports
• Adhoc duties as and when required
• Timely communication with relevant stakeholders about various things.

• Degree in Financial Accounting/Management Accounting/Finance
• CIMA Qualification
• Minimum 5 years manufacturing experience
• Must be able to work under pressure.
• Must be willing to be a business partner to operations department.
• Good communication skills
• Need to demonstrate Financial technical skills.
• Ability to plan and prioritise workloads and workflow to meet deadlines.
• Accuracy and Attention to detail
• Sage Evolution Experience advantageous
