Job Summary The Cost and Management Accountant is responsible for analysing, summarizing and allocating costs associated within the Manufacturing business. Preparing and analysing the monthly financial statements, company budgets and feasibility studies and providing full accounting function within the finance department. Minimum Qualification & Experience: Up to 5 years experience in Cost Accounting/ Senior finance role or equivalent BCom Accounting (minimum), CIMA would be preferred Excellent skills in Sage Evolution Knowledge of Xperdyte systems will be an advantage Budget and Cost Variance Analysis experience Knowledge of auditing and accounting practices in accordance with IFRS Financial analysis and interpretation Knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls Additional Competencies: High attention to detail, maintain accuracy with speed Communication and presentation skills Good interpersonal skills Good verbal/written communication skills Team player and can function independently Deadline driven and can work well under pressure Able to network and build professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders Duties & Responsibilities: 1. Cost Accounting Prepare daily/weekly/monthly financial analysis and reporting of production (e.g., revenue, costs) Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports to management and various stakeholders Analyse changes to BOMs in order to determine what effect it has on the cost of production Develop and control the cost accounting system and required documents Working with various team members to develop new product costings Providing tender pricing as and when required Monitor and controlling of manufacturing expenses/waste Ensuring GP targets are achieved Prepare/Perform all import costing sheets, tenders and projects 2. Production Maintaining cost accounting system Bill of materials maintenance Opening of new jobs Issuing of actual material/labour usage Receipting of finish goods Investigating production variances Posting of production variances to the IS Monitoring of production output/wastage Daily monitoring and recording of actual production output vs targeted output per machine / per department Daily monitoring and recording of production downtime per machine/ per department 3. Finance Perform/Review daily/weekly/monthly bank reconciliation Perform/Review daily/weekly/monthly Petty Cash reconciliation Perform/Review monthly debtors reconciliations Perform/Review monthly creditors reconciliations Perform periodic VAT, PAYE and Tax reconciliations Intercompany reconciliations Perform/review monthly loan reconciliation and calculating the monthly interests for long- and short-term loans. Compiling and distributing of daily/weekly/monthly cash flows ensuring business unit remains cash positive. Inventories recording and valuation To review, maintain and implement internal control procedures Manage the full audit functions with internal/external Coordinating the periodical physical inventory counts Processing of statutory returns and deductions such as PAYE, VAT, Tax etc. Manage the posting of all transactions to all company ledgers. Set up new debtors/creditors/cost centres on accounting software Month/Year end journal posting 4. Reporting Prepare monthly management accounts pack Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations Prepare and analyse income statements ledgers Prepare daily/weekly/monthly cashflow forecasts Prepare financial budgets and forecast Maintenance of fixed asset register and insurance coverage Inventory maintenance and costing analysis Prepare annual audit packs (hard/soft copy) 5. Monitoring and Measure Prepare/review weekly age analysis and other reports on supplier payment monitoring Prepare/review weekly age analysis and other reports on customer receipts monitoring Prepare variance of forecast vs actual cashflow Prepare reports on company tax status and other statutory compliance 6. Employee Management/ General Is responsible for staff recruitment, performance assessments, training, and career development. Is accountable for headcount planning, succession, and departmental development. Manages functional and operational finance and support teams; conducts regular meetings to regulate the output and achievement of departmental goals. Ensuring compliance with internal and external audits Monthly/yearly budgets Manage stock takes Inventory control Adhoc tasks as and when required
