Logistics Officer | Cape Town | Grocery Store

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Logistics Officer to join our client in Lansdowne. The purpose of this role is to provide logistic support and overseeing the overall logistic processes in support of the objectives of the organisation. The ideal candidate should be strong in verbal and written communication, strong typing skills are essential, along with a meticulous attention to detail. This position will be based in Lansdowne, Imam Haron road.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Providing logistic support and overseeing the overall logistic processes in support of the objectives of the organization
• Planning, oversight, and coordination of logistics support operations to ensure smooth accomplishment of projects
• Handling the project logistics, organization, and safety by adequately scheduling staff, subcontractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure timely completion of projects
• Creating a plan or time-table for the movement of materials, heavy equipment, and light trucks; workforce and parts supply in compliance with the project requirements
• Providing for preventive maintenance to ensure that projects are accomplished without hitches
• Moving materials to a warehouse location in preparation for shipment, and also conducting receiving activities
• Preparing Transportation documentation, including crating and packing when necessary
• Working closely with procurement officer to ensure the smooth transportation of goods to the grocery store

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Matric
• Procurement / Supply Chain qualification advantageous
• 2-5 years experience working in procurement industry
• Proficiency in Microsoft packages
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc) advantageous
• Strong verbal and written communication skills (English)

Salary : R10200 CTC

Start Date : 1 February 2024
