Job Description

As theLodge Manager, you will be the face of the lodge, responsible for overseeing the daily operations and delivering exceptional hospitality to high-profile guests. You will manage guest check-ins and departures, oversee food and beverage service, ensure all lodge facilities meet premium standards, and collaborate with various departments to ensure an unforgettable guest journey.



You will be a hands-on leader, involved in guest hosting, staff coordination, and upholding brand standards. This role requires a professional who is confident, guest-focused, and ready to lead by example in a high-pressure, detail-oriented environment.



Key Responsibilities:



Personally welcome and bid farewell to guests, handling any special requests or dietary requirements



Host guests throughout their stay, including mealtimes, daily check-ins, and return-from-drive interactions



Ensure that all guest-facing products and environments meet or exceed brand standards



Supervise dining setup and presentation for breakfast, lunch, and dinner



Keep the main lodge area tidy, styled, and guest-ready at all times



Collaborate with kitchen and service teams to ensure flawless guest service



Conduct daily room inspections and guest check-outs



Work closely with waitstaff and HODs to maintain high service standards



Manage bar stock and orders



Take responsibility for staff timekeeping, performance reviews, and general HR functions



Step into any department as required to ensure operational efficiency



Uphold and implement lodge brand operating procedures (BOPs)



Minimum of 3 years in lodge or camp management within a high-end hospitality environment



Hospitality qualification strongly preferred



Valid, unendorsed South African driver's license



In-depth understanding of luxury lodge operations and the guest journey



Knowledge of surrounding environment, local communities, and South African tourism sector



Strong communication and interpersonal skills



High attention to detail with exceptional organizational and problem-solving ability



Able to work under pressure, lead by example, and inspire a team



Must be proactive, trustworthy, and committed to service excellence
