Legal Expert (three (3) Years Fixed Term Contract)
Job Description
Providing legal advice and support to stakeholders as and when required.
Reviewing and update CARA and PDALA legislation.
Drafting regulations for both Acts, aligned with legislation and land use initiatives.
Presenting regulations at consultation workshops and incorporate valid input towards food system transformation and sustainable development.
Submitting reviewed and sound CARA and PDALA legislation and regulations timeously.
Providing urgent comments, opinion and/ or support on latest legal developments related to the PDALA/CARA Norms and standards project.
Masters in Law/ LLM.
Over 10 years of experience in legislative drafting and vetting, including national, provincial, and local government legislation.
Qualifications in Law, Political Science, or Legislative Drafting, in addition to Masters in Law / LLM, will be an added advantage.
Experience and understanding of the Preservation and Development of Agricultural Land Act PDALA), the Conservation of Agricultural Resources Act (CARA), and the broader agricultural sector.
