Junior Industrial Engineer (E-Commerce)

As an E-Commerce Industrial Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our digital platforms, ensuring that systems and processes -- from the entire supply chain to the customer experience -- operate efficiently and reliably. Drawing on your engineering background, you will apply a systems-thinking approach to solve complex challenges, using data and design principles to streamline complexity and enhance performance. Your primary focus will be operational process optimisation, implementation, and cost savings, with opportunities to contribute to projects across warehousing, fulfilment, logistics, and customer service.



You should be solution-oriented, with a passion for process improvement, operations, and logistics within an e-commerce environment. This role is well suited to a highly motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic work culture and can readily adapt to evolving market and organisational demands.



Technical knowledge, skills, and experience


A Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field 0-3 years of total work experience The ability to work on multidisciplinary projects Skilled in process analysis and improvement Excellent organisational, time-management, and decision-making skills Proficient in project management The ability to execute effectively Passion for operations and organisational performance, with a focus on process improvement Fluent in Afrikaans and English
Your responsibilities will include:


Engineering projects:

Plan, schedule, coordinate, and monitor assigned engineering projects from initiation through to completion.

Continuous improvement projects:

Initiate improvements through root cause analysis, digital tool development, and comprehensive process documentation.

Data-driven optimisation:

Identify and analyse system bottlenecks, define and track key performance indicators (KPIs), and drive performance enhancements. Capable of processing raw data and developing automated dashboards to support decision-making.

Operational collaboration:

Partner with warehousing, logistics, and customer service teams to deliver projects that enhance operational efficiency and customer experience.

Business process mapping:

Conduct time studies and create detailed process maps to document and analyse business workflows.

Lean management and process principles:

Identify key areas that should be prioritised and that will contribute most to business objectives. Operational cost monitoring Various ad hoc assignments and tasks
