Intermediate/Senior Phase Class Teacher
FROM TERM TERM 1 - 2026
Minimum Requirements
B.Ed Degree with full qualification to teach in the Intermediate/Senior Phase
Valid SACE registration with proof thereof
Police clearance, Sexual Offenders Register clearance, and Child Protection Act clearance
Minimum of six years' experience teaching Mathematics in the Intermediate/Senior Phase
Singapore Math teaching experience
Ability to plan, assess, record, and report on the applicable curriculum
Knowledge and application of thinking-based approaches to teaching, learning, and assessment
Familiarity with Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and Project-Based Learning models
Understanding of 21st-century educational skills and pedagogy
Excellent communication skills in both English and Afrikaans
Ability to teach Afrikaans in the Intermediate/Senior Phase
Excellent digital literacy skills with the ability to effectively integrate IT into teaching and learning
Innovative, creative, child-centred, and passionate approach to teaching and school life
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate within a dynamic teaching team
Sound organisational skills
Duties and Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons for Intermediate/Senior Phase learners using Singapore Math methodology
Teach Afrikaans as a subject in the Intermediate/Senior Phase
Implement thinking-based approaches, Problem-Based Learning (PBL), and Project-Based Learning across subjects
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs through focus group activities and tailored Mathematics and Literacy programmes
Integrate technology effectively into daily teaching and learning activities
Create an innovative, child-centred learning environment that fosters 21st-century skills
Design and administer formative and continuous assessments aligned with curriculum requirements
Maintain accurate records of learner progress, attendance, and academic performance
Compile comprehensive reports on learner achievement for parents and school administration
Analyse assessment data to inform teaching strategies and interventions
Provide constructive feedback to learners to support their growth and development
Collaborate effectively with colleagues in planning, resource sharing, and curriculum implementation
Participate actively in grade/phase team meetings and staff development sessions
Contribute to the broader school community through involvement in committees and initiatives
Engage in continuous professional development to remain current with educational best practices
Coach or supervise sporting activities and/or extra-mural programmes
Support school events, functions, and activities beyond the classroom
Contribute to the holistic development of learners through co-curricular engagement
Communicate effectively with parents regarding learner progress, concerns, and achievements
Maintain professional relationships with learners, parents, colleagues, and school leadership
Respond promptly to parent queries and attend parent-teacher meetings
