Minimum Requirements
Minimum requirements:
? The applicant should have an appropriate qualification for a Foundation Phase class teacher.
? The applicant must be SACE registered.
? Be computer literate and be willing to incorporate technology in the classroom.
? South African citizenship or legal eligibility to work in South Africa.
? Clear criminal record (police clearance will be required).
? Some Google Workspace experience will be advantageous
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
A. General class teacher duties:
? Teaching all subjects except the specialised subjects such as Physical Education, Art, Music, Dance and Drama, and Xhosa.
? Teaching our Discipleship for Life programme to your class (full training and support will be given) and participating in our Outreach programme.
? Attend weekly morning meetings with the Primary School Principal (Monday, Wednesday, & Friday 07:30).
? Attendance at the weekly assembly is compulsory.
? Preparing learners for internal assessments and external benchmarking exercises.
? General classroom teacher duties, including break duty and early morning duty.
? This is a full-time position (07:30 - 15:30 Mondays & Thursdays and 07:30 - 14:30 on Fridays)
? All full-time staff are also expected to attend staff development meetings after school, twice a week. (07:30 - 16:00 Tuesdays & Wednesdays)
B. Managing/coaching a cultural club or a sport.
? Staff are required to participate in the Primary School extramural programme.
Professional Development:
? Training and support will be provided as applicable. Weekly staff development meetings are held on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons after school, and staff may be required to attend additional training courses from time to time.
Unique teaching environment:
? The classes are small.
? Staff work in small departments, where Biblical support and mentoring promote teamwork and spiritual growth.
