My client is a reputable logistics and freight forwarding company. They are committed to delivering efficient and compliant solutions for both sea and air freight. As the company continues to expand, they are looking for a skilled and proactive Import & Export Controller: Sea & Air Freight to join their team.
Responsibilities:
Exports:

• Coordinate full export process for sea and air shipments.
• Ensure all bookings are made with carriers and freight forwarders.
• Track vessels, schedules and update clients/internal teams accordingly.
• Handles Customs Clearance.
• Prepare and submit export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant export regulations and Incoterms.
• Liaise with clearing agents, transporters, and customers to ensure on-time delivery and loading.

Imports:

• Submit import documentation to relevant authorities including Port Health, State Vet, and Department of Agriculture.
• Monitor vessel ETAs and track incoming shipments.
• Coordinate customs clearance processes with clearing agents.
• Follow up on delays or documentation delays.
• Ensure alignment with all import regulations and trade compliance requirements.
• Liaise with suppliers, warehouse, and internal teams.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Matric (Grade 12) - Essential
• 5-6 years' proven experience in sea and air freight forwarding (imports and exports)
• Valid driver's license and own reliable transport
• Strong knowledge of customs processes, Incoterms, and freight documentation
• Excellent coordination and communication skills
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
