About the Role
The Human Resources Manager will play a key leadership role within the hotel, supporting the Director of Human Resources and General Manager in delivering a world-class people strategy. You will oversee the day-to-day HR operations, ensuring that every policy, process, and interaction supports a positive, inclusive, and high-performance workplace.
This position blends strategic partnership with hands-on HR management -- ideal for someone who loves being close to their people, engaging across departments, and helping every team member thrive.
Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Director of Human Resources in implementing the hotel's overall HR strategy.
  • Manage the daily HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Ensure full compliance with labour legislation and company policies.
  • Partner with department heads to support training, development, and succession planning initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of recognition, engagement, and open communication.
  • Lead employee wellness and motivation programs that align with the hotel's Purpose, Vision, and Values (PVV).
  • Maintain accurate HR records, reporting, and data for compliance and decision-making.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to management and staff on HR best practices.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 8-10 years' experience in HR, with at least 3-5 years in a management or senior generalist role within a 4 or 5-star hotel environment (essential).
  • Solid understanding of hospitality operations (Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B, Banqueting).
  • Excellent knowledge of labour law, BCEA, and HR compliance.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Proven experience in coaching, performance management, and conflict resolution.
  • Passionate about people development and creating an inclusive workplace culture.
  • Hospitality qualification or HR degree/diploma advantageous.
  • Must hold a valid South African ID
