Our client, a distinguished 5-star luxury boutique property located on the North Coast of KwaZulu-Natal, is seeking an experienced and service-driven Hotel Manager to join their executive team. This role calls for a dynamic hospitality professional with a proven ability to lead across all departments and deliver an exceptional guest experience in a refined and luxurious setting.
Description
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Hotel Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily operations across all departments, ensuring the highest level of service delivery, operational efficiency, and team development. The role requires a confident leader who thrives in a hands-on environment and upholds the exacting standards expected of a luxury property.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and support departmental heads across Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B, Maintenance, and Guest Services
  • Ensure a seamless guest experience from pre-arrival through to departure
  • Maintain property presentation through regular inspections and quality checks
  • Ensure accurate guest billing, reservation integrity, and effective communication between departments
  • Work closely with the Executive Chef and F&B team to deliver a food and beverage offering aligned with the property's vision
  • Manage staffing needs including recruitment, training, and performance management
  • Uphold health, safety, and security protocols throughout the property
  • Monitor budgets, inventory, and operating supplies
  • Drive compliance with SOPs, operational controls, and service standards
Minimum Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Hotel Manager or similar senior operational role within a 5-star or boutique property
  • Diploma or equivalent qualification in Hospitality Management
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and guest-relations skills
  • Operational knowledge across all key departments, particularly F&B and Housekeeping
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and hospitality software systems such as Opera, ESS, and HRPM
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain high standards of presentation, detail, and service
  • Strong administrative and budget management abilities
  • Emotionally intelligent, calm under pressure, and adaptable to changing needs
