Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a professional Hotel Duty Manager to oversee front office and food & beverage operations during assigned shifts, ensuring seamless service, operational efficiency, and exceptional guest experiences. The successful candidate will act as the hotel's representative on duty, managing both guest-facing and back-of-house operations.
Critical Criteria (Requirements)

  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in hotel operations, with exposure to both Front Office and F&B operations in a 4/5-star property
  • Previous supervisory or duty management experience in hotels or luxury resorts
  • Strong knowledge of Opera PMS or similar systems and F&B operations
  • Hospitality qualification or diploma advantageous
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and resolve guest issues efficiently
  • South African citizen with a valid ID
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Act as Hotel Manager on Duty, overseeing Front Office and F&B operations during assigned shifts
  • Ensure smooth check-in/check-out processes and manage reservations and guest services
  • Supervise, mentor, and support front office and F&B teams, maintaining high service standards
  • Address and resolve guest complaints or requests promptly and professionally
  • Coordinate with housekeeping, kitchen, and other departments to ensure seamless operations
  • Monitor service delivery, ensure adherence to SOPs, and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Oversee cashiering, billing, and audit procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Support staff training and development to maintain operational excellence
  • Uphold hotel standards of professionalism, grooming, and guest interaction
  • Live and promote the hotel's values of Teamwork, Respect, Innovation, Accountability, Passion, and Integrity
